• Corticoids as prednisone when symptoms
are severe

control nausea and vomiting
• Medicines to relieve dizziness such
as meclizine or scopolamine
• sedative hypnotics like Valium
Persistent problems of balance may
improve with physical therapy. To prevent the symptoms of labyrinthitis worsen
during episodes of labyrinthitis, try the following:
• Stay still and rest when symptoms
appear.
• Return to activity gradually.
• Avoid sudden changes of position.
• Do not try to read when symptoms
arise.
