Hepatitis Drug

A large number of drugs which are hepatotoxic, or directly injure the hepatocyte. Such drugs may therefore cause hepatitis. The drug antidiabetic troglitazone, for example, was withdrawn from the market in 2000 for causing hepatitis. The acetaminophen (Paracetamol), analgesic substance widely used by children and adults, is considered highly hepatotoxic when high doses.
clinical use of various drugs can cause hepatitis in susceptible individuals. We can not predict who will have a drug-induced hepatitis, however, individuals who already have other forms of liver disease are at greater risk.
Some medications are related to hepatitis: acetaminophen (Tylenol ®, Dorian ®), antibiotics and antifungals such as erythromycin, tetracycline, sulfa drugs, ketoconazole, nitrofurantoin and anabolic (hormones used to improve physical performance - doping); antipsychotic drugs and tranquilizers, as for example, chlorpromazine (Thorazine ®), amiodarone (antiarrhythmic), methyldopa (Aldomet ® - anti-hypertensive) and Antitubercular. Oral contraceptives (the pill) are also occasionally mentioned.
Treatment
Treatment for drug-induced hepatitis is the immediate suspension of the drug, or exposure to any toxic substance that may have caused the disease.
Prevention
To prevent drug-induced hepatitis, administration of drugs should only be done under medical supervision, and never exceed the recommended doses.
Individuals working in industrial environments and are exposed daily to toxic, must use appropriate attire and wearing masks to avoid inhaling these products.
