There is only one of thirty cases described in the literature, and it is believed that due to the presence in the skin of an antigen (a substance that activates the immune system) water soluble. Upon contact with water, dissolves the antigen crosses the skin and makes the defense cells to release histamine, which causes the appearance of swelling, burning, and other allergic symptoms. Those affected do not support being more than a minute in the shower or pool: the body is invaded by a painful rash that takes hours to disappear. In order to soothe skin irritation, doctors may prescribe capsaicin ointment.
