Hepatitis C is a viral disease of the liver caused by hepatitis C virus (HCV). Hepatitis C requires care, because there is no vaccine and limitations of the treatment, and its high tendency towards chronicity eventually in which complicates cirrhosis.
The contamination is via blood transfusion, injection of illicit drugs, needle sticks, cuticle clippers, unsterilized tattoo equipment and unprotected contact with infected blood or secretions
Occurring cases of transmission from mother to baby during childbirth. It is also suspected of sexual route and aspiration of nasal drug for explaining a portion of 20 to 30% of cases in which there is no known way of contamination.
Treatment
Can generate cirrhosis, but it is treatable with medication.
Prevention
No vaccine. To prevent, do not share instruments like pliers, needle, piercing, razor, syringe and condom use.
