Cancer do Testicle

The testicular tumor accounts for 5% of all cancer cases among men. It is easily cured when detected early and has a low mortality rate.

Although rare, concerned because the incidence is higher in men of working age - between 15 and 50 years. At this stage, there are likely to be confused, or even masked by orquiepididimites (inflammation of the testicles and epididymis (channel located behind the testicle that collects and carries sperm and) usually transmitted sexually.
Treatment
Initial treatment is surgery when it is exposed to the testicle biopsy (removal of a tissue fragment to be examined under a microscope). The test result is still given during surgery. If positive for cancer, the testicle is extracted. The reproductive or sexual function of patients is not affected as long as the other testicle is healthy.

Further treatment may be surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy or by clinical control. The completion will depend on research that will evaluate the presence or possibility of spreading the disease to other organs.
Prevention
The development of this cancer is associated with family history, injury and trauma in the scrotum and cryptorchidism (when the testicles do not descend into the scrotum). As there is no way to avoid it is recommended monthly self-examination of the testes. In childhood, it is important to examine the pediatrician to check the descent of the testicles into the scrotum occurred normally.
