Chancroid

Chancroid, soft venereal ulcer or chancroid is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the bacterium Haemophilus ducreyi. Chancroid is not a neoplasm, ie, it is not cancer / cancer, but an infectious disease.
Treatment
Azithromycin 1 g orally, single dose, or
Thiamphenicol 5 g, PO, single dose, or
Doxycycline 100 mg orally, de12/12 hours for 10 days or until clinical cure (contraindicated for pregnant women, nursing mothers), or
Ciprofloxacin 500mg, VO, 12/12 hours for 3 days (contraindicated in pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under 18), or
800 mg sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim + 160mg, VO, 12/12 hours for 10 days or until clinical cure.
Systemic treatment should always be accompanied by local hygiene measures.

Erythromycin stearate 500mg, VO, 6/6 hours, for 10 days. In patients where there is no response to treatment administered Ceftriaxone 250 mg single dose.
HIV positive
HIV-positive patients with chancroid should be monitored carefully, as they may require longer treatment, in addition to healing may be delayed and treatment failure can occur at any of the recommended regimens.
Some experts suggest the use of erythromycin (stearate), 500 mg orally, 6/6 hours for 10 days.
Prevention
Chancroid is a sexually transmitted disease that is contagious in irregular wounds, red, and green mole based purulent. They are usually multiple, due to the ability to self-inoculation. May occur, especially in the sexual organs, but the lips, mouth, tongue and throat may also be affected.
