Angina

The term "angina" comes from Greek and means chest pain. In Ancient Greece was recognized the importance of medical chest pain as a sign of heart disease, as a manifestation of obstructive coronary artery that carries blood and nourishes the heart.
The poor irrigation of the heart results in the development of pain. Recognition of chest pain as a manifestation of coronary artery disease is of paramount importance, since early diagnosis can be of great value for your treatment.
Treatment
The treatment of coronary insufficiency involves three possible approaches. If you are patient with coronary heart disease, your doctor will discuss with you and help you choose the one that is most appropriate for your case.
Drug treatment: is the use of drugs that aim to reduce the possibility of developing myocardial ischemia. The drugs used for this purpose dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow to the heart or decrease cardiac work in such a way that by making smaller work, decreased blood flow due to coronary obstruction is sufficient to supply the needs of the heart .
Aspirin generally used in low doses (infantile presentation, for example) 'thins the blood', ie reduces the possibility of clot formation occur in coronary circulation, which may occlude arteries and even lead to infarction.
The nitroglycerine and calcium blockers are coronary vasodilators, whereas drugs of the class called "beta blockers" decreasing cardiac work.
Treatment by catheter: angioplasty dilatation constitutes a coronary obstruction, through the use of a special catheter, inserted into an artery in the arm or leg. This catheter has a balloon on its tip, which crushes the atherosclerotic plaque to be inflated.
Treatment with "laser" is the removal of atherosclerotic plaque, which is etched with use of laser.
The atherectomy is removed from the plate by means of a special mechanism located at the tip of a catheter.
The 'stent' is a metallic device (similar to a 'bobe hair "that is implanted at the site where there was the coronary obstruction, in order to keep the artery clear and reduce the possibility of return of coronary obstruction.
Surgical treatment: myocardial revascularization (popularly known as "bypass"). This surgery is the use of segments of the veins of the leg (saphenous vein) or arteries (commonly the mammary artery, chest wall, but you can use other arteries of the arm and to the stomach) to join a thread without obstructing an obstructed segment providing in this way an alternative route to blood flow that does not pass the obstruction (hence the term "bridge").
Prevention
Take a healthy life. Control risk factors.
Try to stay close to your ideal weight, avoid sedentary lifestyle, adopt healthy diet, controlling fat levels. If you are hypertensive or diabetic, control them in the best way possible.
Physical activity, in general, is beneficial for the heart. Your doctor will guide you as to the degree of physical activity suitable for you and if you must exercise physical activity supervised environment or not.
