Chagas Disease


It is a disease that early in the acute phase, can not be perceived. Sometimes causes low fever that lasts long, gives malaise and lack of appetite. You can enlarge the spleen and the liver. In this early babies can worsen and lead to death. Many years later, when the disease is already in the chronic phase, some patients show no sign that they are sick. Do not feel anything. Others may experience palpitations, shortness of breath and fatigue, bloating, chest pain, cough and dizziness. Others may still feel difficulty when swallowing and even pain, regurgitation, hiccups, cough, constipation and pain in the abdomen.
Treatment

There is no specific treatment for the disease, the drugs targeted only decrease the amount of blood protozoa. Each symptom should be treated individually
The Trypanosoma cruzi was discovered on the banks of the Rio São Francisco physician Carlos Chagas in 1909, and won in this name in honor of Oswaldo Cruz, who admired Chagas.
Prevention
No vaccine. The only way to avoid the disease is away from the vector by insecticide and improving own homes, so that the insect has not to hide
