IUD (intra uterine device)
A device in the form of "T" made of plastic and covered with a copper wire, which is placed within the uterus.
How do you use?
Must be placed in the uterus and lasts up to ten years. To begin using it to go to the health service, for only the / a doctor / a can put it, and also to assess whether or not a woman can use it.
How does the IUD?
The IUD prevents sperm from meeting the egg, because copper affects sperm killing them or slowing their movement inside the uterus, preventing fertilization there.
What are the chances that the IUD fails?
The failure rate of the IUD TCU 380A is approximately 200 women who use the IUD in one year approximately one gets pregnant.
What are the side effects?
• Changes in the menstrual cycle (common in the first three months, usually decreasing after this period)
• prolonged menstrual bleeding and bulky
• Bleeding in between periods
• Colic higher intensity or pain during menstruation
IMPORTANT
The IUD does not increase the risk for cervical cancer, endometrial or ovarian.
