Red wine is good for the heart but not the white wine?

Truth: The difference between red wine and white wine is that red wine is made with the grape skins and not white. The phenolic antioxidants are present in the peel, therefore, only red wines are rich in these compounds and therefore do well to the heart. The antioxidants present in grapes have a role in improving endothelial function, induce dilation of arteries and inhibiting oxidation of LDL (low density lipoprotein).
Reds and whites also differ for the content of anthocyanins - molecules responsible for pigmentation - and therefore absent in white grape. There is evidence that phenolics found in grapes and red wine can inhibit LDL oxidation in vitro, as can its use in preventing atherosclerosis.
Importantly, despite the red wine be recommended for prevention of cardiovascular diseases, their consumption should be moderate and done under the supervision and guidance of a nutritionist or doctor.
