Conjunctivitis is an inflammation of
the conjunctiva, and thin transparent membrane which covers the front of the
eye (the white of the eye) and the inside of the eyelid. In general, attacks both
eyes, can last from a week to 15 days and often does not leave sequelae. It can
be acute or chronic, affect one eye or both.
Treatment
The treatment of conjunctivitis is
determined by causative agent of the disease. For viral conjunctivitis there
are no specific medications. Now, treatment of conjunctivitis include bacterial
indication of antibiotic eye drops, which should be prescribed by a physician,
since some drops are highly contraindicated because it can cause serious
complications and aggravate the condition.
Special care with hygiene help control

microorganisms
