Irritable Bowel Syndrome

The irritable bowel syndrome (or IBS) is a gastrointestinal disorder that affects very common especially women.

You can have several causes: stress, poor diet, allergies and food intolerances, bacterial overgrowth, fungal and parasitic, insufficient enzyme production, lactose intolerance and deficiencies in the secretion of gut hormones responsible for motility.

This dysfunction causes muscle contractions and irregular bowel movements drive, causing the accumulation of mucus and toxins in the intestines. The body loses its ability to absorb nutrients, particularly amino acids.

Treatment
The natural treatment of irritable bowel syndrome is basically to strengthen the body:
Probiotics.
Diet rich in fiber (fruits, vegetables, whole grains and rice bran).
Glutamine (added to juices or take fasted).
Essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6.
Chamomile tea, lemon balm, valerian, rosemary, ginger and plantain. Use pure or mixed herbs.
Alfalfa.
Aloe Vera (Aloe) - see recipe on this blog.
Garlic.
Supplementation of vitamins and minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium.
Relaxation techniques, yoga, hiking.
Modification of lifestyle and stress reduction.
Prevention
As knowledge of the causes and mechanisms of disease are still poorly understood, does not know how to prevent.
A search of medical care to clarify the framework and management of specific symptoms, prevents the disease causes major consequences on the lives of patients.
The Irritable Bowel Syndrome should be remembered as a disease:

 chronic and recurrent,
 without prevention or specific treatment,
 with highly benign,
without increased risk of developing any more severe disease, and it generally allows its carriers remain unchanged their quality of life and productivity.
