Stuttering

Myth: People who stutter are less intelligent.

Reality: There is no relationship of cause or consequence between stuttering and intelligence, ie, not a lack of intelligence that causes stuttering or stammering and leaves one less intelligent. Some people who stutter choose to express their opinions orally less; eventually this attitude may give the impression to the caller that the person is less intelligent, but this is generally not the case.
