Neither myth nor truth. Breastfeeding
increases the production of prolactin, a hormone which inhibits ovulation. But
worth a caveat: the contraceptive effect only applies in cases where the baby
breast regularly - always every two or three hours every day, including late at
night. When the child starts to space out the times, the mother needs to get
back on contraceptives. Today, there are products that are compatible with
breastfeeding, which may be prescribed by the gynecologist.
