The Achilles heel is one of the most
popular metaphors about human frailty. Thetis held Achilles by the heel his son
to immerse it in river Egypt who become invincible. Wanted to counteract an
oracle that said that his son would die in the war of Troy. During a battle,
however, Achilles took an arrow in his only vulnerable spot: his heel, which
had not been bathed in the river by his mother. Thereafter, the term Achilles'
heel indicates a weakness of a person.
