Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by a bacterium that affects the lungs, but can also occur in other organs of the body such as bones, kidneys and meninges (membranes surrounding the brain).
Prevention
To prevent tuberculosis is necessary to immunize children with BCG. Seropositive children or newborns who show signs or symptoms of AIDS should not receive the vaccine. Prevention includes avoiding crowds, especially indoors, and do not use objects contaminated people.
Treatment

Tuberculosis treatment using antibiotics is 100% effective, however, there can be abandoned. Tuberculosis cure takes six months, but the patient often does not receive appropriate clarification and gives up ahead of time. To avoid abandonment of treatment is important that the patient be accompanied by teams of physicians, nurses, social workers and visitors properly prepared.
