Myth. There is a rule. About 20% of
children will have some type of allergy. Of these, 30% are sensitized animals.
It works like this: the child's body comes in contact with the agent (in this
case, by the animal) and the immune system sees that substance as dangerous.
But it happens to everyone, and one U.S. study showed that early contact with
animals, from the first months of life, can have the opposite effect: it made
it that some children do not develop allergies. In addition to strengthening
the immune system, the interaction with these animals facilitates the
socialization of their child.
