Did you know that a baby is born with
about 300 bones in its body? According to Arizona State University, in the
United States, many bones fuse throughout the growth process, and as a result,
the skeleton of an adult human has 206 bones of varying shapes and sizes. These
structures are formed by living and active cells, which means that they are
always growing, regenerating and also relating to other parts of the body.
Another curiosity is that if you put all the bones in your body on a scale, the
total mass will correspond to 15% of your body weight.
