Avocado

 This is one of the most controversial fruits, as many still consider it fatty and high in calories. What few know is that avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats and a source of potassium, an important mineral for controlling blood pressure, says Ana.

Monounsaturated fats, like polyunsaturated fats, are linked to lowering LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) and reducing cardiovascular risk. It's worth noting that it's best to consume the fruit raw and avoid consuming avocados with sugar.
