Eggs have enough cholesterol, about 200mg per unit,
but recent studies suggest that a good deal is not absorbed. The egg lecithin
reduces cholesterol absorption. This is roughly half the amount of cholesterol
recommended maximum daily intake for. Therefore the amount of cholesterol egg
is not an obstacle to their use - considering the recommendation of a unit
intake daily.
Moreover, the egg has several important foods such as protein, phosphatidyl
choline (a substance important for brain), vitamins A, D, E, B1, B2, B3, B6,
B12, biotin, folic acid, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc,
selenium, iodine and sulfur. Putting the pros and cons in the balance, the egg
shows an excellent food.
