Malaria
Just as Dengue, Malaria is also transmitted by mosquitoes and is easily spread. The mosquito is Anopheles Darling and is quite abundant in northern Brazil. It's a disease that if not discovered in time may lead the individual to death as it did in many cases.

According to WHO, is the infectious disease that causes more problems in the world, only surpassed in number of deaths from AIDS. In Brazil, is distributed throughout the Amazon region. In the 40s, about 6 million Brazilians each year contracted the disease. Control campaigns were made, but in the 70s, with the exploitation of the forest, again reached high levels, with 450,000 to 500,000 cases annually. In 1999, there were more than 600,000 cases and according to the SVS, in 2002, the number fell to 349,000.
Prevention
There is still no vaccine, although it is being researched worldwide. Repellent and clothing that covers the entire body can help keep the mosquito free
