Molluscum Contagiosum


Skin disease characterized by the production of papules (elevated skin) umbelicadas (with a central depression) color ranging from white peroláceo (translucent) to pink, usually 2 to 6 mm in diameter and base (local deployment) slightly hyperemic (red). Are commonly multiple mainly because they are self-inoculable. The lesions are mildly pruritic (produce itch) and located in any region of the skin (face, trunk and extremities of the exposed areas) and, more rarely, in the mucous membranes. They can occur at any age but are most common in children aged 0 to 12 years.
Treatment
The treatment of choice is removal of the lesions by curettage (performed by a physician). It also occurs spontaneous involution of the lesions, without sequelae, after 6 months to 2 years of its inception.

Prevention
Avoid physical contact with infected people
Control
Inform the etiology and benign nature of the disease; steer to avoid injuries, and treatments coçaduras untimely because autoinoculation; avoid skin contact, especially among children, and encourage other family members and household contacts with extra-framework similar to a doctor's appointment.
