Prefer vegetable oils

In the struggle to lower cholesterol levels, rather than just restrict the consumption of traditional villains of the heart (such as saturated fats), you can use the help of some good guys. Canola oil and olive oil are good examples of foods that you should include in your diet. According to nutritionist Roberta Stella, monounsaturated fats present in both types of vegetable oils help reduce LDL, the bad cholesterol. Already vegetable oils rich in polyunsaturated fats, like soybean, sunflower, corn, increase levels of HDL, considered as good cholesterol. Expert's tip therefore is, and keep an eye on the amount of saturated and trans fats, give preference to foods with higher amounts of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated.
