Venereal Lymphogranuloma
The Lymphogranuloma venereum is characterized by the appearance of a genital lesions (primary lesion) having short duration and which is presented as a ulceration (wound) or as a papule (elevation skin). This injury is transient (3-5 days) and is often not identified by patients, especially females. After this primary lesion healing, usually after from two to six weeks, appears the inguinal bubo which is a painful swelling of the lymph a groin (70% of the time is from one side only). Bubo If this is not treated properly it evolves to spontaneous rupture and formation of fistulas that drain pus.
Treatment
Systemic through antibiotics. Aspiration inguinal bubo. Treatment of fistulas
Prevention
Condom. Hygiene after intercourse.
Control
Interrupt the chain of transmission by screening and referral of patients with STDs and their partners, for diagnosis and appropriate therapy.
Counseling - Guidelines to the patient, making note of the possible hazardous conditions present in their sexual practices, develop awareness of the importance of their treatment and their sexual partners and promote preventive behaviors.
Promotion of condom use - The most effective method for reducing the risk of transmission of HIV and other STDs. Call for partners for counseling and promotion of condom use (must follow the principles of reliability, absence of coercion and protection against discrimination). Health education in general.
Note: The associations between different STDs are common, especially today, the relationship between the presence of STDs and the increased risk of HIV infection, especially in the presence of genital ulcers. Thus, if the trader is unable to perform counseling, pre-and post-test to detect HIV antibodies, upon diagnosis of one or more STDs, this option should be offered to patients. Every sexually transmitted disease sentinel event is to search for other STDs and possible association with HIV. It is also necessary to note that the Ministry of Health has implemented a "syndromic approach" to STD patients in order to increase the sensitivity in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases, which resulted in a greater impact in reducing these infections.
