Callus


In dermatology, a hard callus is an area of ​​skin that has become coarse and stiff as a response to repeated contacts and pressures. In botany, the term is also used with a condition of rigidity on the surfaces of plants or leaves. Since repeated contact is required for the existence of the callus, the most common occurrence is in the hands and feet. The calli are generally not harmful, but may be the source of other problems such as infection. Tight shoes can cause calluses on feet often.
