days, are exhausted and unwilling.

powerless.
Prevention
Chickenpox is an airborne disease and
is highly contagious even before the rash breaks out, which makes prevention
difficult. It is possible to catch chickenpox from a person who is in another
aisle in the supermarket and do not even know who has chicken pox!
The chickenpox vaccine is part of
routine immunization.
• Children receive two doses of the
traditional chickenpox vaccine. The first dose is given 12 to 15 months of age.
The second dose is received from 4 to 6 years of age.
• People over 13 who have not been
vaccinated and contracted chickenpox should not take two doses of vaccine at a
specified interval 4-8 weeks.
Virtually anyone who takes the vaccine
arrives to present moderate or severe chickenpox. The small number of children
who contracted chickenpox after receiving the vaccine, only one child presented
a mild case.
The chickenpox vaccine does not
require a booster later. However, a vaccine similar, but different, later
received reduces the incidence of herpes zoster (shingles).
Talk to your doctor if you think your
child may be at risk of complications and may have been exposed. Immediate
preventive measures may be important. Vaccination after exposure can also reduce
the severity of disease.
